“Touch the Raindrop”


The ad said “Think Big” but Anne knew that was wrong.

Everything was getting smaller: computers, cars, smart devices, social circles. Everything was drawing down, compacting.

Everything but us. We were getting bigger, fatter. Our vision was shrinking while we were…well, she was going to change that. She bounced the pill in her hand, studied its opalescent surface. It was beautiful, would make the world beautiful again. Why be content to take a picture of a raindrop on a feather if you could be on the feather, touch the raindrop?

She laughed and popped the pill. Swallowed. Waited.
