Some Pieces Missing

If each of our lives is an unassembled
Puzzle, and our task is to put it all together,
Then I’m the guy in the vast convention center
Where people assemble their puzzles
With easy, satisfied snaps, while I panic over
My scattered, unsolved table,
Searching hard for the easy edge pieces.

I have never been very good at jigsaw puzzles, mostly because I never had the patience for any but the easiest. Many of my friends love them, though, and are awfully good at them. I’m not sure that’s any sort of statement about my life as a whole, but it might be!
