A Capable Brick

A brick with some chips missing is
Still capable of brickish tricks
Still does brickish things
Or could if not hurled onto
A heap of broken stones.

A person with some chips missing is
Still capable of personish tricks
Still does personish things
Or could if not shoved into
A box labeled “broken forever”.

I had a few minutes this afternoon where I sat on a bench and did nothing but let my mind and eyes wander. This poem came from that, thanks in large part the brick sidewalk by the bench.
