The Heavens Declare

The heavens declare the glory of God
But we are blind to the declaration.
We look to the side, to the elation
Of the eternal to-do list, we listen
To the narration of our own thoughts.
We crank up the volume of life.
We bang our heads to the hustle.
We close our eyes and groove
In our grooves.
Meanwhile, rapturous, riotous glory
Bears witness to the Almighty
Just beyond our closed selves.

Sometimes, when I read my Bible, God’s poetry inspires a little of my own. Maybe that’s a little arrogant of me but I don’t think so. Not really.
